Some changes have taken place recently within the Cobourg Highland Games Society (CHGS) committees.  We’ve said “cheerio” to two long term members and welcomed some new volunteers.

Our stalwart leader, George Cackette, has decided to step away from his role as President and take some well-deserved time off. Since George assumed this position in 2016, he’s lived and breathed our Highland Games, going above and beyond what was expected of him.  He’s been instrumental in elevating the financial health of the CHGS, has developed and embraced social media as a means of communication and continuously and unashamedly promoted the Games throughout his tenure as President.  George’s absence will be keenly felt, and we’ll certainly miss his guidance.

Terry Myles also said goodbye this year.  Terry, a member of CHGS for nine years, was the first point of contact for any Clans wishing to attend our Games.  As a member of Clan MacNeil, he was a passionate advocate for Clans and provided valuable insight to the committee.

We are appreciative of both George and Terry’s contribution to the Cobourg Highland Games Society.

Taking over the role of President is Pauline Davidson who has served as Treasurer for the past 24 years and in that time has amassed an encyclopedic knowledge of anything related to the CHGS.
